This is my lidded project that I made on the wheel out of clay. The bottom is made out of red clay and the top is normal clay. It stands at a little over 4 inches tall and almost 4 inches wide.. I started by dipping the bottom, the base, into clear glaze because I liked the way the reddish clay looked. I dipped the top in white because I liked the way the contrast looked. The light top went well with the dark bottom. While making this project I learned how to make a lid, and style it to make it unique. I had never made a lid before so this was new to me . The contrast of colors stands out and the form of the lid is probably the main attraction of the project. When I look at the project there is a lot of simplicity. The colors aren't too wild but the lid is unique, and it's sort of an elegant spike at the top.

This is my cup with a handle that I made on the wheel out of clay. It stands at 3 inches tall and 5 inches wide if you include the handle. I started by dipping the whole cup and handle into a blue glaze, then let it dry. Then I used a paint brush to paint on green stripes all down the side. While making this project I got to practice making a large handle and this is something I wasn't good at before. I learned how to better shape the handle. The handle definitely stands out the most because the form is very extravagant and dramatic for the size of the cylinder. When I look at the cup I made it reminds me of candy because of the blue and green mix, so it has a light hearted feel to it. Something that a younger person would enjoy.
This is my cylinder made on the wheel out of clay. It stands at 3 inches tall and 4 inches wide. I started by dipping the bowl in black and covered all of it, then dipped the rim in black and used the dripper tool to add blue and make it drop down from the rim. This is a glazing technique I had not used at all, and I'll use this skill in the future to add more attention to the glaze with the dripper. The color stands out the most because of the cool drops down the side and the black and blue combination make for good harmony because the look soothing together. When I look at the bowl I get a calming vibe, the drips oddly remind me of slow motion because it's as if you can still see the glaze dripping.
This is my group coil pot made by hand with clay. It stands at 2 inches tall and 4 and a half inches wide. We dipped the bowl in dark blue glaze which gives it a darker vibe, and then we went and sponged off some access glaze that was left on. During the construction of this project, I got to practice adding on clay elements like the football on the outside. The form of the pot makes it unique with the rounded clay on the outside in layers, and additional accents. I'd say there is emphasis on the football on the outside, however if could draw attention better if it was a different color. The coil pot has a sporty vibe because of the dark blue color scheme and the football, and it is very sports themed.
